Paul Bexley

Age: 23

Sex: male

Date: 24 Sep 2017

Place: Baldovan Crescent, Easterhouse, Glasgow

Paul Bexley died after being stabbed at a flat. Two men were charged with his murder but nothing more is known.

It was claimed that they had punched and kicked him about the body and stabbed him at his flat in Baldovan Crescent, Easterhouse, Glasgow on 24 September 2017 at about 12.40am.

He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary but died soon after. He had suffered what were described as 'horrific stab wounds'.

The two men were also charged with the attempted murder of another man at the flat and one of them was further charged with the assault of a woman who was assaulted outside in the street, it being said that the man had pushed her and hit her over the head with a bottle.

It was said that Paul Bexley had been defending his brother at the time of the attack. A friend of his was reported as having said, 'His brother was stabbed too and Paul was trying to break up the fight'.

A neighbour said that they heard a 'horrible wailing' coming from the flat before it all went quiet. The neighbour said, 'I heard a commotion, it was very loud. There was shouting, lots of voices, then I heard the wailing. I knew then someone had been seriously injured. It was really bad, a horrible sound. The cry was so loud then it all went quiet. Then I heard sirens. It’s so sad'.

Following his death the police searched nearby streets, rubbish bins and gardens and were seen to find two knives and a baseball bat which they took away for forensic examination. The storm drains near Glasgow Fort shopping centre were also searched.

They also appealed for other people that had been at the party to come forward. The police said, 'A young man has lost his life in a senseless and violent attack and it is absolutely vital that we trace the person responsible. We understand there was a party within the flat where the incident took place and people in attendance will have witnessed what happened. I would appeal to these people to do the right thing and tell the police what they know because this despicable individual has no place in our society'.

Paul Bexley had been having a flat warming party at the time having earlier been out to watch a game between his team, the Old Firm against Celtic at a friend’s house.

At the time his girlfriend had been pregnant.
